Alex Azcueta

SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ASSISTANT / NEURO REHAB ASSISTANT

Alexis is a first-class honours graduate in Therapeutic Psychology from Roehampton University. She has clinical experience working at Homerton Hospital in its Neurorehabilitation inpatient unit and additional experience supporting vulnerable individuals as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Alexis has developed valuable practical skills while working in healthcare. In her role as a Leisure Coordinator in a 27-bedded Neurorehabilitation unit, she gained extensive experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries. As part of a multidisciplinary team, Alexis developed one-to-one and group activities to support patients’ rehabilitation goals and meet their cognitive, physical and social needs. Additionally, as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Alexis has supported vulnerable people, including individuals with dementia. These experiences enabled Alexis to strengthen essential interpersonal and organisational skills such as rapport-building, communication and teamwork.

Passionate about improving mental health through creative and person-centred approaches, Alexis is pursuing an MA in Art Psychotherapy. She brings strong therapeutic skills such as active listening and empathic attunement and aspires to become an Art Psychotherapist dedicated to fostering wellbeing through creativity and collaboration.
