Rufaro known as Ram for short has been working with adults all her professional life. Initialling working with and managing services for adults with complex needs such as drugs, alcohol, mental health and in the criminal justice system, when she realised she had passion in communication, she changed careers by completing her MSC in Speech and Language Sciences at UCL in 2021. She started off working with adults with learning disabilities before developing an interest in adults with acquired and progressive neurological conditions.
Ram’s clinical interests include aphasia, cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria, apraxia of speech and dysphagia. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients, their support network and other rehabilitation colleagues to formulate goals and treatments plans that are of relevance and importance clients. She believes in bringing energy, compassion, a sense of humour and a “can do” attitude to therapy that fosters creative thinking and constant learning for everyone.
