Sima Ormazdi
SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)
Sima graduated with a BA (Hons) in Linguistics from University College London in 2006. For 2 years, she then began working as a teaching assistant, supporting children with special educational needs and carried out volunteering work with adults who have had a stroke. In 2009, Sima gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy from City University.
Since qualifying, Sima has a wide range of experience in a variety of clinical settings including acute medical wards, stroke unit, rehabilitation unit and care homes supporting individuals with acquired neurological and progressive neurological conditions.
She has worked closely with family members/ carers as well as the wider multidisciplinary team. Furthermore, she has gained insight in a range of communication disorders which include aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria and cognitive difficulties by carrying out assessments and individual therapies, as well as assessment and management of dysphagia (swallowing difficulties).
Sima has a keen interest in supporting individuals and their families who have gone through a life changing experience; educating them and promoting positive well being as a whole.
