As well as offering 1:1 traditional therapy, we also run a number of therapy groups. There is an overwhelming amount of research to highlight the benefits of group therapy.

We can deliver groups via video-link if the COVID-19 crisis prevents face-to-face contact:

  • Understanding and Living with My Brain Injury

  • Conversation and Social Skills

  • Project-Based Intervention (an exciting novel treatment)

  • Communication Partner Training (for families, friends & carers of those with acquired communication changes)

  • Family Support and Education

  • Back to Work and/or Education (for higher level clients)

  • Living with Aphasia

  • Total Communication Therapy

  • Narrative Therapy

We would be delighted to share more information with you. Do contact us for more information and a detailed booklet on any groups you are interested in.

See our ‘video’ section and testimonials from Case Managers below to give you a flavour of how clients can benefit:

“As a Case Manager working through the restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic, I value innovative services that meet the needs of my clients. Linguistic Resolutions have offered just that in the form of speech and language therapy small groups delivered using video conferencing.

It is my understanding that my brain injured clients have benefitted greatly. My clients have been able to access therapeutic activities delivered by a very experienced therapist. They have shared learning and rehabilitation development opportunities with their brain injury peer group focused on preparing them for the real world of friendships and return to work or volunteering.”

Deborah Lindley, Case Manager

“When the speech and language therapist suggested to my client that he join a speech therapy group, I felt this would be a good addition to the multidisciplinary therapy already being provided, and encouraged him to attend. However, as the course progressed, I realised it was offering much more than this. The client found that the group provided him a safe space in which to practice techniques he had discussed during his one to one therapy sessions. He gained in confidence with his conversational skills. All members of the group had sustained a brain injury and the client really valued the opportunity to talk to them, reflecting on and sharing experiences, and offering each other support. The group members chose to work on their language skills by compiling a video about their experiences; this was shared with family, friends and professionals at the end of the course and I felt was a real achievement. In summary, I feel that the speech therapy group offered my client an invaluable experience. It exceeded both his and my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend attendance at a group, to other clients in the future.”

Carolyn Bodiam, Clinical Lead Case Management

“I have worked alongside Linguistic Resolutions for a number of years now, in my role as a clinical case manager. The therapy groups they now offer are an asset to their offerings. It is really beneficial for brain injured clients to meet with other people who have been through similar experiences. One of my clients has really benefited from his participation in one of their communication groups; he got on well with the other members and felt empowered, motivated and engaged to create a video about his experience of sustaining an injury, to support others".
