Jemimah King

SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ASSISTANT / NEURO REHAB ASSISTANT

Jemimah graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Birmingham in 2023. Alongside her degree, she gained clinical experience with autism and learning disabilities. Particularly, she worked in a multidisciplinary team to support an autistic adolescent with Dravet Syndrome and complex needs – including speech, language, and communication needs. Within this role, she was responsible for working one-to-one with the client across home, community, and school settings and delivering SLT interventions to support a care plan targeting dysphagia and dysarthria. This role emphasised to her the significance of communication to independence and personhood, and particularly inspired her passion for speech and language therapy as she witnessed first-hand the transformative differences it makes to the lives of clients and their families. Jemimah also has experience as an Honorary Research Assistant at the University of Birmingham. In this role she has been primarily responsible for conducting a systematic review of the sleep duration and quality of individuals with and without intellectual disabilities.

Jemimah is excited to further develop her knowledge and clinical skills in the field of speech and language therapy and neurorehabilitation at Linguistic Resolutions and also on placement as she begins her MSc in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Lincoln. Jemimah is excited to work closely with clients to promote their independence, support them to access their community, and improve their quality of life.
