Jessica McAlpine

SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Jessica has been working as a Speech and Language Therapist with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties for the past 9 years. She has had extensive experience working with both progressive and single-event conditions (such as stroke or traumatic brain injury) and has supported patients throughout their rehabilitation journey; from acute inpatient settings, to rehabilitation units to seeing people once they are at home.

Jessica is dedicated in delivering patient focused and holistic rehabilitation and enjoys working closely with other professionals, friends and families to ensure intervention is both effective and efficient. Her areas of expertise are predominantly in aphasia and cognitive communication disorders and more specifically delivering conversation partner training, vocational rehabilitation as well as supervision to other Speech and Language Therapists.

Jessica also works for the NHS for a highly specialised community-based team, working with patients who have had an acquired brain injury and supporting them to increase their independence through improving their participation in work, study, leisure activities, and their social relationships.
