Lynzi Crisp

SPECIALIST PAEDIATRIC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Lynzi qualified as a Speech and Language therapist from The University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in 2000. She then pursued an interest in early intervention and paediatric neuro-disability, completing a Masters research project exploring communication opportunities afforded parents of infants in a neonatal intensive care unit.  On completing her Masters degree in 2004, she moved to settle in London.

Lynzi has worked across a variety of community and acute settings, specialising in the areas of dysphagia and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). For 5 years, Lynzi worked at The Bobath Centre – London, where she developed her transdisciplinary skills in working with children and young adults with cerebral palsy.

At present, Lynzi works for Evelina London community service (Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust), providing dysphagia and AAC intervention to infants and young children. As part of her role, she is involved in supervising and training, and has co-produced and delivers a 5-day Intermediate Dysphagia course in line with the RCSLT dysphagia competency framework.

Lynzi is actively involved in the AAC and neonatal and paediatric dysphagia specialist interest groups.
