Patricia Azzopardi

specialist speech & language therapist (neurology)

Patricia Azzopardi is a specialist Speech and Language Therapist working with adults who have acquired communication and swallowing disorders. She has experience working in a variety of settings and has worked in neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, brain injury, care of the elderly and palliative care teams. 

Patricia has a special interest in adult neuro-rehabilitation, designing person-centred therapy programmes for clients with traumatic brain injury, stroke and degenerative neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease). She has experience in assessing and treating cognitive-communication disorders as well as working on speech clarity, expressive and receptive language skills, voice, stammering, swallowing and disorders of consciousness. Patricia also works closely with families and carers and other communication partners. 

Patricia has experience working with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods, including low and high-tech communication systems and devices.

Additionally, Patricia is trained in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), Positive Response Training and Videofluoroscopy.
