SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Sally qualified as a speech and language therapist from the University of Manchester in 2002 and has specialised in working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders arising from acquired and progressive neurological conditions.

 Having worked as a senior neuro Speech and Language Therapist in several teaching hospitals including King’s College Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital, and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Sally has developed sound knowledge and clinical skills in assessment, treatment, and complex neurorehabilitation. Her clinical interests include aphasia (language difficulties), cognitive-communication disorder, dysarthria, and apraxia (speech difficulties).

 Sally enjoys working with clients to build rapport, create meaningful goals to inform management, and deliver individualized treatment to achieve positive outcomes. Providing education and guidance to the client and those involved, including family, friends, and health care professionals is key to Sally’s management. In addition to this, she supports managing the social effects and adjustment to the communication and swallowing disorders in a friendly client-led way. Sally endeavors to provide evidence-based practice by keeping up with current research and delivers both impairment and functional therapy through face-to-face, virtual, and group therapy sessions.
