Simon Grobler

Simon Grobler is a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist in working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders due to acquired and progressive neurological conditions. He has worked in a range of NHS and private settings including acute hospitals, in-patient rehabilitation units, outpatients, nursing homes and community rehabilitation teams.

Simon's clinical interests include aphasia (language difficulties), cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria and apraxia (clarity of speech difficulties) and dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). He enjoys working collaboratively with clients and their support network to identify meaningful goals and devise relevant treatment plans. He works well with other team members to ensure rehabilitation is coordinated and holistic. Simon has significant experience in facilitating support workers, families, students, and other professionals gain knowledge of and skills in supporting communication and swallowing impairments. He is a certified clinician in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), a voice/speech treatment technique for motor speech disorders, particularly that associated with Parkinson’s disease.
